Embark on a 3-day Erg Chigaga dunes adventure from Marrakech. You will be picked up from your hotel and begin the scenic drive through the Tizi n’Tichka pass at 2,260 meters in the High Atlas Mountains. Your route takes you to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO-listed fortified ksar famous for its Kasbahs. This village has served as a backdrop for numerous films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, and Gladiator. Take a walk up to the hilltop for panoramic views of the town and surrounding desert landscapes. 🏰🎬

Continue to Ouarzazate, where you will stop for lunch near the Kasbah of Taourirt. After lunch, drive south through volcanic mountains and Ait Saoun village, a historic caravan route for Sahara traders from Timbuktu. 🏞️

Reach Agdez, the first administrative center of the Draa Valley, known for its lush palm groves and traditional kasbahs. Continue through the lunar-like landscapes of the pre-Sahara until you arrive in Zagora, a small town and the birthplace of the Saadian dynasty that ruled Morocco in the 17th century.

Continue to M’Hamid / Lmhamid El Ghizlane:
Travel south through small desert towns like Tagnite toward M’Hamid, the last settlement before entering the Sahara. Here, your off-road adventure begins, crossing rugged pre-Sahara terrain in a 4×4 or guided vehicle, giving a sense of adventure before reaching the vast Erg Chigaga dunes.

Arrival at Erg Chigaga Dunes:
In the late afternoon, arrive at the Erg Chigaga dunes, some of the largest and most remote in Morocco 🏜️. Mount your camel 🐪 for a ride across the undulating golden sands and experience the breathtaking sunset over the dunes 🌅. The warm desert colors and endless horizon make this a perfect moment for photography and reflection.

Evening in the Desert Camp:
Spend the night in a traditional Berber tent or upgrade to a luxury desert camp ✨. Dinner is served under the stars, accompanied by the peaceful sounds of the desert and optional Berber music 🎶.
