Morning pick-up from Marrakech. Begin the journey by crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m) 🏔️. Enjoy panoramic views, terraced slopes, and traditional Berber villages along the route.

Stop at the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah 🏰, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the narrow lanes, mud-brick towers, and take photos from the hilltop viewpoint. Famous filming location for movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

Continue to Ouarzazate, Morocco’s film capital 🎬. Optional visit to the Taourirt Kasbah, an impressive fortress that once belonged to the Glaoui family, and/or a short stop at local film studios.

Drive through Skoura Oasis 🌴, a lush palm grove dotted with kasbahs. Capture the beauty of the valley, visit a traditional kasbah if time allows, and enjoy photo stops of the Dades Valley’s striking red rock landscapes.

Overnight: Guesthouse or riad in Dades Valley.

Distance: ~270 km | Driving time: 5–6 hours (with stops)

Depart early and continue along the Dades Valley, also known as the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs” 🌴. Stop at viewpoints to admire fortified villages perched atop hills.

Visit the Todra Gorge ⛰️, a spectacular canyon with sheer cliffs reaching up to 300 meters. Short walk at the base of the gorge is recommended for photos and exploration.

Continue the drive through Errachidia and the desert edge towns, witnessing the landscape transition from mountains and palm oases to golden desert sands 🌅.

Arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Meet your camels 🐪 and ride into the dunes to your desert camp.

Enjoy a sunset over the Erg Chebbi dunes, a highlight of the trip, with vast rolling sands and dramatic colors.
