Scenic Drive & Mountain Villages
Your day begins at 09:00 with pickup from your Marrakech hotel or riad. Enjoy a scenic drive of approximately 1.5 hours through the rugged Moulay Brahim Gorges, where dramatic cliffs, rivers, and verdant valleys set the stage for your adventure. Youβll pass through Asni, a lively Berber village known for its weekly market, full of colorful spices, local crafts, and traditional produce. Depending on the route, you may also pass through Tahnnaout or Ourika, each offering glimpses of rural Moroccan life.
Arrival in Imlil β Gateway to Toubkal
Imlil, a charming village at the base of Mount Toubkal (4,167m), serves as the starting point for many treks and mountain adventures. The village is a hub for local guides, mule services, and trekking paths, all nestled in a lush valley surrounded by high peaks. Here, you can soak in the alpine atmosphere and prepare for your hike or optional mule ride.
Hike to Aroumd (Aremd) Village
From Imlil, your journey continues with a hike (or mule ride) south toward Aroumd Village (1,850m). The trail winds through terraced fields, olive groves, and streams, offering spectacular views of the Western High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, youβll pass traditional Berber homes, see local villagers at work, and feel the rhythm of rural life.
Cultural Experience & Lunch
Upon arrival in Aroumd, enjoy a traditional Berber lunch in a local familyβs home. This is a unique opportunity to taste authentic Moroccan cuisine, interact with locals, and experience the warmth of Berber hospitality. After lunch, take a short walk to explore the village surroundings, including ancient trails, small streams, and panoramic viewpoints.
