Depending on your time of arrival, you might like to see some of the sights of Casablanca, in particular the Hassan II Mosque with the tallest minaret in the world. Casablanca (Spanish for “White House” and generally abbreviated by locals as “Casa”) has long stood in the western imagination as a hub of romance. Most travelers associate Casablanca with tales of the Marrakesh Express and, of course, the film, Casablanca. Of course, the reality of this fast-paced Moroccan city is quite different , you’ll visit the Hassan II Mosque it’s The largest mosque Morocco (and the 13th largest in the world) with the tallest minaret in the world. It was completed in 1993 and stands on the Northern Atlantic coast of Morocco, looking back over the Casablanca city line. Designed by Michel Pinseau and built by the Bourges, the minaret is 210 meters high and has a laser at the top which is directed towards Mecca.  and then contunie your journey to Rabat , overnight at the Hotel/Riad .

What is the capital of Morocco? Many people believe it’s Casablanca but in fact Rabat is the capital. In 1912 with the beginning of the French protectorate of Morocco the capital was moved from Fez to Rabat. In 1956 when independence was regained it was decided that the capital would stay put. Rabat isn’t on the tourist radar but there are many reasons to include it on your list. When it comes to seeing Morocco, Rabat is a bit of an unsung hero. The administrative capital is often left off the popular tourist circuit and folks tend to flock to Marrakech in the south and Fes, as well as Tangier and Chefchaouen in the central and northern parts of the country. Even Casablanca likely gets more traction than Rabat as it’s the location of the busiest international airport in Morocco as well as the largest mosque in North Africa, Hassan II , Kasbah Odayas ; Chellah Garden ;  and then heading to Essaouira. The costal road offres beautiful scenery, an area famous for the Argan trees. Here you will see herds of goats climbing the Argan trees looking for better food than they can find on the ground. After several stops along the coast we get to Essaouira in the afternoon, Overnight accommodation at a riad in the Medina.

Transport, Breakfast

Breakfast at the hotel in Essaouira, then start your explorative journey of the city. You’ll visit the Skala Fortress; see Thuya wood carved by artisans; walk through the alleys of the medina and view hundreds of handicrafts. Today your driver can help you to have lunch in a Moroccan way, freshly bought fishes ‘cooked to order’. In the afternoon, you will have some free time to wander around , go to the beach and enjoy time to yourselves. Essaouira is also referred to as The “City of the Wind” and it attracts surfers from all over the world. Essaouira knew many civilizations – including the Portuguese occupation, which affects much of its architecture – however, it remains a small village with much history. Because of its size and its characteristic blue doors and washed walls, it is also regarded as Morocco’s “Jewel of the Atlantic”. There is an annual festival of “Gnawa music”, where many musical groups come from different parts of Africa and the world. Usually it starts in the second week of June. Overnight accommodation.

After breakfast in your riad, you will have some free time before leaving for Marrakech. On our way – since this is the land of Argan culture – this is an opportunity to visit the women’s co-operative of Argan oil where they extract the oil that is famous for its culinary, cosmetic and medical properties. After several stops to take photographs, you will continue your travel to Marrakech and check in to your riad. After dinner you will have the option to enjoy walking within the famous square of Jemaa El fna, entertained with magicians, story tellers, musicians and snake charmers

This is your discovery day in the Red City, aided by your private guide who will meet with you in the morning at your riad to discuss the day’s possibilities. Leave the everyday behind as you dive into the souks, the markets that have provided Marrakschis with all their needs for over one thousand years. Vibrant colors, rich aromas, cat-calls and music, merchants in djellabas, street chefs in white hats, whatever your image of the exotic is you will find it in Marrakech. A visit to the Museum of Photography or the Majorelle Gardens are also highly recommended, visit the Souk, la Bahia Palace. This relaxed day trip will take you from the walls of the ‘Red City’ to the High Atlas hamlet of Ouirgane. En route you’ll make a stop at the busy little town of Asni which is a buzz of activity as local Berbers ply to sell their produce, particularly on Saturdays – market day. Once in Ouirgane your time is free to explore the village. Fed by the Oued Nfis from the Atlas, a perennial water source, the village is surprisingly verdant – a real oasis in the mountains. In recent years a dam was built creating a reservoir which adds to the visual appeal of the valley. Market day is Thursday in Ouirgane.
The most popular activity for visitors is walking – several circuits offer options for people of all abilities, from an hour’s stroll along village tracks, past typical Berber houses, farms and fields, to more challenging walks through the valley and along the river. Your guide will brief you on options when you arrive. Alternatively, enjoy the fresh mountain air and views from a cafe. Lunch is taken in a typical Berber village house, enjoying a home-cooked meal. After lunch you have time to discover more of the picturesque Ouirgane Valley, the timing its flexible from 1 to 4hrs, after the hike youll take a 1Hr  journey back by car to Marrakech , overnight at the same riad .
