After a hearty breakfast in Marrakech, your private driver will pick you up from your hotel or Riad and begin the scenic drive to Imlil (~1.5 hours). As you wind through the High Atlas foothills, youβll pass the towns of Tahnaoute and Asni, where on Saturdays you can glimpse a bustling Berber market full of local crafts, spices, and fresh produce.
Upon arrival in Imlil, youβll meet your English-speaking guide and muleteer team, who will prepare the mules for your hike.
The trek begins gently, following narrow paths through terraced fields, orchards, and small Berber villages. The trail gradually ascends, offering increasingly breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. The goal of the day is Tizi Mzik Pass (2,479 m)βa perfect spot for panoramic photos and to feel the majesty of the High Atlas.
Along the way, your cook will prepare a picnic lunch in the open air, giving you a chance to savor local flavors while surrounded by mountains and fresh alpine air.
After lunch, the trail descends back toward Riad Berber Towers, where youβll enjoy traditional Berber hospitality, relax, and savor a warm dinner. The evening provides time to unwind, enjoy the views, and experience the peaceful atmosphere of a remote mountain riad.
