- Transfer: Marrakech → Aguersioual (1,600 m) ~1h30 drive
- Hike distance: ~12 km / 7.5 miles
- Hiking time: 5–6 hrs
- Elevation gain: +600 m / Elevation loss: –350 m
- Start altitude: Aguersioual – 1,600 m
- Highest point: Tizi Oudid – 2,200 m
- Overnight: Ouaougmout Village – 1,850 m
Morning transfer: After breakfast in Marrakech, your driver will take you south through the foothills of the High Atlas. Along the way, you’ll see fertile valleys, villages of flat-roofed houses, and views of snow-capped peaks in the distance. Arrive at Aguersioual (1,600 m), the trailhead where you meet your muleteer and begin the trek.
Hike: The trail winds gently uphill through juniper forests and terraced fields, with stops to greet friendly Berber farmers. You’ll pass through Matat village, with its walnut and apple orchards, before reaching the Id Issa Valley — a lush valley surrounded by red-earth slopes.
Lunch: Pause at the panoramic Tizi Oudid Pass (2,200 m). Enjoy a freshly prepared picnic lunch while overlooking the valleys of Matat and Id Issa.
Afternoon: Continue along mule paths past small hamlets, waving to children playing in the fields. The path descends into the green valley of Ouaougmout (1,850 m).
Evening: Settle into a Berber family house. Expect a warm welcome, mint tea, and a traditional dinner of tagine or couscous.

Scenery: As you climb towards Talat N’Ikiss Valley, the landscape changes into wild, rugged hills dotted with juniper trees. The red soil contrasts beautifully with green terraces — a classic Atlas panorama.
Lunch: Stop in the peaceful Assaka village, where your cook prepares a picnic under the shade of walnut trees. Enjoy the quietness of rural life far from modern distractions.
