Depart from Marrakech to agrssiwal its a small town 3km before Imlil then start trek towards Imsker passing by the Tizi n’agrssiwall pass (2100 m ). This stage allows us to visit numerous villages of the Massif Nimnane to discover the agricultural traditions of the Mountain Berbers, the irrigated terraces reaching up high along the banks of the valley. The major canal lies between the brown of the mountains and the green of the cultivation. The villages are built above this so that they do not lose any fertile land. Descend the valley of Imnane crossing some traditional Berber villages, arriving at midday at the village of Ikiss. After lunch Continuing to reach the village of Imsker (1600 m). Night spent Berber guest house. 4 to 5 hours walking time.
Depart village of Imsker towards the Ouirgane Valley passing by the Tizi N’lbour Pass (1900 m ). Descend towards Imi Oughlad then climb back up the Tagadirt N’ait Ali Village (1500m). Lunch just after this pass in order to go back down towards the Ouirgane Valley to reach the village of Tinzert , Night spent in family’s house. 4 to 5 hours walking time.
After breakfast from Tinzert down to the traditional Marigha Salt mine (1100m). Pass the villages of Imariren Noufla, Anraz, and stop for lunch near by the Torourd River (1000m). Head up to Tassa Ouirgane, Night spent in Berber guest house. 4 to 5 hours walking time.
Tassa Ouirgane via the beautiful valley of Azadene , we head to the village Tizian. Just a little further on we will stop for lunch in a beautiful open walnut threes area, after lunch we join the track to up to Tahliouin; Idissa then Tizi Oussem (1850m). Night spent in guest house. 5 to 6 hours walking time.
Depart the village of Tizi Oussem towards the village of Tizi Oussem, A full day walking through the villages on the northern slope of Mt Toubkal. This famous mountain can be seen from Marrakech thanks to its unique shape. We travel through Azib Tamsoult and the Irhouliden water full, and then have lunch near by the river before us a head trough Tizi Mzik (2460m). Continue walking to Armed Berber village (1950m), today is a 5-6 hr walk. Tonight will be spent in our mountain lodge with Traditional Sauna (Hammam). 5-6 hours walking time.
Leaving the fields and walnut trees of Armed village behind, we follow the Mizane valley to the small shrine of Sidi Chamarouch, a place of pilgrimage for many Moroccans. There is time to view the tomb of the local marabout (holy man) albeit from a distance as non-Muslims are not allowed to cross the footbridge. After stopping for a soft drink or mint tea, we continue the climb up to the Neltner refuge at an altitude of (3207m), 6hrs walk, and overnight at the Refuge Neltner of club alpine francais. 5h munite walking time
An early start (6-7am) for the ascent of Toubkal, After crossing the river outside the refuge we immediately start climbing through scree and snow up the western flank of Toubkal. About an hour below the summit we we reach a wide open pass for our first views of the south. We then turn north for a climb up the ridge to the summit plateau. Reaching the summit (4167m) provides a great sense of achievement and we are rewarded with breathtaking views. We descend by the same route and should be back to the refuge in time for a late lunch and relaxing after the hard peace. Approx 6 hrs walk
Today you will have our last foray into the snowy heights around us. Most likely you’ll head up above Neltner to the tight gorge of the Tizi Ouanoums Pass. Whilst not a peak, the pass offers the opportunity to look down the southern side of the mountain to the glacial Lac D’Ifni, shimmy ring emerald green below. You return to Neltner for lunch, before descending back down the valley to Imlil for our last day, and then our transport will transfer you back to Marrakech by the evening. Those not wanting to do the morning walk, after breakfast walk down stop for lunch at Sidi Shamarouch for having lunch and then continue to Imlil . Approximately 7-8 hrs if you did walking in the morning if not it will be another (three to four hours if only descending from Neltner).
